Stevie's profile

Stevie Cohen MA is a practising artist who has exhibited extensively in the North West. Her own practice, based in painting, collage and text has been demonstrated in numerous live painting performances and exhibitions. It is vital to her that the thinking and making process is exposed within the work, and many exhibitions incorporate a collaborative element, engaging invited participants and members of the public. "It is not the description of the world, that I seek to convey; but the experience of it"

She has been a university lecturer for over twelve years, teaching contemporary fine art. Stevie's exceptional ability to communicate with and enthuse students was recognised by the university at an early stage. She was selected to run the majority of workshops for possible and prospective students, as well as numerous enrichment programme events for a wide variety of groups both within and external to the university. Stevie was also selected to devise and deliver bespoke programmes of work for students with special and particular needs and requirements. She has taught at Foundation Level, MA Level, although the majority of her teaching has been on the BA Contemporary Fine Art programme.
