"Now Then" statement from the catalogue - All my work explores the relationship between measured and immeasurable aspects of existence. The bed, like canvas, like life, measured, familiar and locked within its own identity is a platform for possibilities to occur. Bed thoughts, often realised in the timeless space between conscious and unconscious states, have been selected thematically and challenge the notion of arbitrary beginnings and endings of things. In painting, drawing and collage, a random line often dissects and connects juxtaposed elements and serves to imply continuation beyond the established parameters of the picture plane. These long standing ideas are translated partly sculpturally, though there is a clear affinity with the suggested and imagined, the drawn rather than the actual, and the reliance on the 2D format is evident.

When small, I envied the cartoon girl on TV. With her magic crayon, she could draw a door and then walk through it. As for me... still trying.
